McDonnell Douglas MD-11 Delta Air Lines Widget Print
A classic in Widget livery. Delta became the first U.S. carrier to order the MD-11 in 1988, committing to nine aircraft with 31 on option. To accelerate its Pacific expansion, Delta announced in 1990 that it would lease two early-build MD-11s, allowing the airline to begin Los Angeles–Tokyo service in early 1991, before its own deliveries arrived later that year.
This Studio11 print features N801DE in the iconic Delta Widget livery. It was delivered to Delta on March 13, 1992.The aircraft served the airline until December 12, 2004, flying key long-haul routes during the MD-11’s brief but notable time in Delta’s passenger fleet.
After retirement, N801DE was converted into a freighter in 2008 and re-registered as N294UP, operating in cargo service until it was placed in storage in March 2025.
